The company was formed in 1976 and over the decades has successfully completed thousands of contracts, from commercial, to institutional, industrial and multi-family projects. We have the ability to adapt to all size projects and this includes small scale renovations and modernizations through to multi-million dollar new construction.

LEAR provides Construction Management, Pre-Construction Service and General Contracting for new builds or renovations across Alberta and through Western Canada. We also provide cost saving construction services to our clients specializing on tight schedules.

We care about the safety of every one of our employees and contractors. That’s why we’re a member of the Alberta Construction Safety Association and why we’ve been a part in the Partnership in Injury Reduction program since its inception. All our projects are managed with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act in mind, and our corporate Construction Safety Officer is involved in all our builds.
Environmental and Industry Standards
At LEAR Construction, we’re experienced in building facilities to LEED standards and in meeting Environment and Sustainable Resource Development Guidelines. All our projects meet municipal, provincial or manufacturing standards. We’re also able to prepare Erosion and Sediment Control plans or Environmental Construction Operations plans, and Traffic Accommodation Strategy plans for sites.

Ryan Bazant, MBA, P. Eng
Ryan is the Owner of Lear and carries overall executive operational responsibility of the company. Ryan provides essential support across our construction, estimating, business development and accounting teams working directly with our Vice President, Chief Estimator and leadership group.
Ryan’s career commenced on site as a graduate engineer then evolved through estimating, project management and operational management. His achievements in education include a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), is a member of APEGA (P.Eng), and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Ryan is an active member of the “Young Presidents Organisation” (YPO) and supports the future of the industry through various volunteer engagements.
Ryan is a dedicated family man where he and his wife spend their weekends supporting their 4 children at various sporting activities. A born and raised Albertan means Ryan loves a challenge and competes regularly in Spartan races across Canada. The Bazant family engage with local charities as they are regular contributors to “Inn From The Cold”.
Shawn Hammer, P. Eng
Working directly with Ryan and supported by our senior leadership team Shawn controls Lear’s construction and administration processes including but not limited to construction management, contracts management, safety, quality, environmental, IT, finance and general administration.
Shawn has shaped his career to his current role after joining Lear and working on site during his schooling years. He quickly progressed into project coordination, project management into senior management. He has a Bachelor in Civil Engineering and is an active member of APEGA (P.Eng.) in addition to multiple industry affiliations and committees. Shawn’s long-standing relationships with our project partners, sub contractors and suppliers, ensures Lear has the right team in place across our projects.
Trevor provides vital leadership across our construction program working side by side with our project managers, clients and project partners.
Trevor is an Architectural Technologist who pours his heart into every project. His knowledge of building science, incredible attention to detail, and experience in project management assists him in delivering excellent service to every client. His dedication and hard work has earned him top honours, including a Best of Region Medallion and a Gold Medal at the Skills Canada National Competition in Architectural Technology and Design.
Trevor is responsible for the day to day operations of the commercial division including oversight of the project managers and site superintendents.
With roots in rural Saskatchewan, Trevor now finds himself living in the scenic Town of Cochrane. In his free time he enjoys the short drive to explore the mountains, re-finishing furniture, and experiencing the many craft breweries Alberta has to offer.
Business Development Manager
Jason provides overall leadership across Lear’s business development program that encompasses external and internal sales and marketing. Jason provides vital support across the construction and estimating teams in acquiring leads, maintaining relationships, managing proposals, attending industry events, corporate and social media and company culture.
Jason has over 25 years experience in related construction industry experience where he commenced on site as a farm hand/labourer then progressed into sales then business development. He is our company representative for the CGCA and attends numerous industry association meetings and networking events.
Jason is a “true blue” Aussie and now calls Calgary home with his wife and 2 children. When they’re not running around to all their various sporting commitments, they are in the mountains snowboarding and skiing or camping and hiking.
Elijah provides overall leadership in the financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal control policies and procedures. He is also responsible of overseeing the accounts payable department and payroll department for Lear Construction Management Ltd and other related companies.
Elijah has over 10 years of experience in oil & gas, Water filter optimization, land development and related construction industry experience. He has a Bachelor Degree in Management-Major in Accounting and Minor in Social Responsibility and an active member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta (CPA). He serves as a presentation panelist under the CPA Professional Education Program, Toastmaster International and head of the Finance Department of the Calgary World harvest Christian Centre.
Elijah enjoys meeting new people, building contacts and maintain relationships. He enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, hiking, playing soccer and watching matches of his favourite soccer team Arsenal FC.
Dan is Lear’s workforce and safety manager and has overall responsibility of our safety, quality and environmental program.
Dan has over 12 years’ employment with LEAR progressing through the company as a site superintendent, project manager then overall responsibility for the planning, coordination and controlling of safety, quality and environmental.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating and managing sub trades, materials, and equipment; creating and analyzing budgets, schedules, and contracts; and monitoring the safety of employees.
Stephen Giminez, P.Eng
Stephen provides overall leadership of the Company’s estimating department. He also provides value engineering, business development and preconstruction services.
Stephen has 25 years of combined work experience as an estimator and a construction manager, specializing in residential, commercial, institutional, light industrial building construction, and large-scale land development. He graduated with B.S. Civil Engineering at the Mapua University in Manila. He is a professional member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
Stephen is a true leader and a volunteer who co-founded various non-profit professional organizations in Ontario and Alberta. He is married to Maria, a registered nurse, and has 2 children. He loves spending quality time with families and friends.
